Is recently established conservation area of about 1,900sq.km in the Iringa and Morogoro regions of South - central Tanzania. Is bordered by the Great Ruaha River to the north and the Mikumi - Ifakara road to the east.

The major attractions of the park is its biodiversity and unique Udzungwa Forest where many rare plants not found anywhere else in the world have been discovered, from a tiny African violet to 30 meter high trees.

Apart from being home to about six types of primates including 2 endemic species the Iringa red colobus monkey and the Sanje crested mangabey the plateau supports populations of elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, and African rare hunting dog as well as species of forest birds, three of which - a sunbird, a cisticola and a weaver -were only discovered in the last few years.
